O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

Am I the only one already excited about Christmas? I just love it and I’m already planning out how to decorate our tree and house. I’m especially excited this year because we have our house and I can get an extra big tree because of our vaulted ceilings. Hmmmm just how tall can I go…..haha I’m sure Eric will have something to say about that!

I’m also going to try and participate in BooMama’s Christmas tour of homes this year. I probably won’t have much to show other than my tree, but we’ll see. Maybe I can talk Eric into putting lights on the outside of the house?

Beautiful Green Grass On It’s Way!!

I’m so excited because we (Eric) are redoing our front lawn. It’s going from this:

To this today:

Then on Monday the sod will be delivered. I can’t wait to have beautiful, SOFT, green grass. The grass right now is horrid. The dirt is so hard that in part of the yard seed won’t even grow. I’m excited for next year to come so I can plant flowers and make the front of the house look pretty. We’ll paint the house next summer too so it will be getting a whole makeover.

And one last picture, just had to show off the beautiful entryway table that Eric made me.

sick sick sick

SO yes, this is why my blogging has been absent.  I don’t remember the last time I had the flu — the last time I remember throwing up was the night before going into first grade.  The last 36 hours have brought it all back to me.  I’ll be back in a few days when I’m alive again!

Before and After House Pics

So, we’ve been working on upgrading our house since we bought it in June.  I thought I’d post a few pictures of what we’ve done so far.

Here’s the hideous master bedroom.  We (or should I say my sweet husband) replaced the molding, we painted the trim, replaced the light/ceiling fan, replaced the doors, and I primed and painted twice because the first color I picked was WAY too blue.

And here’s the after:

We still need a dresser and I want to get a new bed skirt and pillow shams, but it’s coming along.  We’re also in the process of painting the bathroom cabinets and picking out new tile and counter tops.  But, we’re saving for vacation so we can only do one thing at a time.

We are going to paint the cabinets this winter and eventually we’ll replace the counter top and get new appliances.
